ACE Advocacy

I am still waiting for my direct payments to be sorted out but I have now been put in contact with ACE, who I hope will help fight my corner. ACE is an independent citizen and self-advocacy project in Suffolk.

Phill recently took over running the centre at Museum Street. He had asked a number of people if they knew what advocacy was, and so to make sure that everyone could access it he invited ACE in to do a talk. ACE offer advocacy for groups as well as on a one to one basis, and can help you get your voice heard.

I have asked ACE if they will help me get my voice heard when it comes to my direct payment, which I hope will speed things up a bit. I will let you know how it goes.

At the same time, I am supporting a friend to increase his confidence on speaking up, I am sharing my experiences and the techniques I have learned to cope with obstacles that we face in the community.
