'The Voice', an act which paid tribute to Pavarotti, came out on top as the winner of the Environment Agency's most recent fundraising event, 'Brampton's Got Talent'.

The event, organised by staff at the Agency's Brampton office, raised money for their Charity of Choice, Papworth Trust.

Acts ranged from a singer to impersonators and a poetry reading to a comedian. But Tom "The Voice" Neish, of the Environment Agency, won with his accolade to Pavarotti and Nessun Dorma.

On winning the competition, Tom said: "It's a great thrill to win. It felt like there was a real sense of community spirit. It was especially wonderful to be able to sing in the knowledge that we were raising funds for Papworth Trust."

The idea came from Regional Diversity Advisor, Alison Pennycook, who said: "I loved every minute of the afternoon. I didn't realise when I thought of innovate ways to raise funds for our Charity of Choice, that I would discover such varied and hidden talent among our staff!"

So far, the event has raised £230 but the Environment Agency will sell DVD's of the talent contest, and aim to break £450 in total.
