Papworth Trust is a charity and registered social landlord working with people with disabilities across the East of England.
Papworth Trust provides a range of services for disabled people to ensure they have more equality, choice and independence in their lives.
In using the term "disabled" we mean anyone who has a long-term health issue, learning difficulty, physical disability, sensory impairment, mental health issue or a combination of these or other impairments. We also mean anyone of any age.
Papworth Trust takes a pan-disability approach and works with over 17,000 disabled people every year.
The Trust operates in five areas: Employment & Rehabilitation; Empowerment; Housing & Built Environment; Learning for Life and Work and Personal Support.
The majority of our services are delivered in the East of England, with the greatest coverage in Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Suffolk, Essex and Norfolk.
In addition we provide advice services to disabled people, businesses, local authorities and other organisations, advising on disability in general, employing disabled people and developing accessible and inclusive communities.
Our team
We employ about 400 staff, of which 17% have some form of declared disability, about 30 volunteers work with us on a regular basis in a number of different roles.

We help disabled people achieve a number of outcomes; we help over 1,000 people every year find and retain a job.

We provide day services in seven centres across the Eastern region helping people to learn new skills. We help 91% of people who attend our Rehabilitation service for those with acquired disabilities to be either in work or work ready by the time they complete their programme.
Funding
Approximately 85% of our £15 million income per annum is earned through local authority and Government contracts and rents from tenants, with the balance of our funding coming from endowments, fundraising and investments.
