Papworth Trust Vocational Rehabilitation is a highly successful and unique nationwide service enabling over 90% of clients to get a job or be ready for work. Our nationwide programme is tailored to the individual to rebuild confidence, self-esteem and independence with a focus on gaining employment.
The programme was recognised for its success when it won the ?Rehab Provider of the Year' award at the 2008 Eclipse Proclaim Personal Injury Awards.
Our unique programme is delivered by a multi-disciplinary team of in-house professionals. We are successful at supporting people back into employment even when they have been out of work for a very long time. We use the biopsychosocial model to achieve our results. The biopsychosocial model considers biological issues (the disease or condition), psychological issues (the impact on mental health) and social issues (other factors that may have a negative impact on health and well-being including employment issues)
We provide vocational and medical rehabilitation services to people who have had an accident, trauma or ill health.
Our rehabilitation services provide:
- an intensive programme of support typically lasting 12 to 24 weeks
- assessment
- centre-based accommodation or out-reach support - the choice is up to the individual
Tailored programmes
Programmes are tailored to the person's needs and because of this the duration and location vary accordingly.
Categories of injuries
Our rehabilitation services are available to people who have suffered an accident, trauma or ill health, some examples are below but this list is not exhaustive:
- acquired brain injury
- orthopaedic injury
- stroke
- back and neck injury, including whiplash and spinal cord injuries
- amputations
- aneurysm
- muscular-skeletal injuries
- all acquired injuries up to catastrophic injuries
