Role title: Project Support Volunteer - Huntingdon or Papworth Everard
Summary: To support disabled people in acquiring a range of skills from performing arts to independent living skills.
Salary: Unpaid, agreed in advance expenses reimbursed.
Reporting to: Amelia Hodson
Location: Huntingdon or Papworth Everard
Days and hours: Flexible - minimum 1 session (2.5hrs) per week
Duration: 12 weeks
Volunteers will work with a Project Worker to enable learners to complete tasks. This may include teaching assistant duties such as supporting learners on a one to one basis with literacy, numeracy or art. We're looking for volunteers to support in specific sessions and will look to recruit people who have a passion for particular subjects.
How you will make a difference
You will help to build our disabled client's confidence and support them to live more independently, learn new skills and feel part of their community.
Skills and experience we're looking for
In Huntingdon, we're particularly looking for volunteers to help with cooking, core skills (literacy, numeracy) and days out such as gym visits, sailing, day trips, etc.
In Papworth Everard, we're particularly looking for volunteers to help with core skills (literacy, numeracy), ceramics and sequin arts.
Volunteers will receive all the required training for the role, as well as support and guidance from the team.
